How Can I Get More Medicare Coverage

How Can I Get More Medicare Coverage ?

It all comes down to two simple options:

  • Option 1 – Medigap + Stand-Alone Part D
  • Option 2 – Advantage

Yes, essentially it’s that simple.

Option 1 – Medigap + Stand-Alone Part D
With Medigap, you can supplement your Original Medicare with extra insurance that covers some of the out-of-pocket expenses not taken care of by Medicare Part A and B. Think of it as your safety net, helping cover those out-of-pocket expenses that Original Medicare may not handle. Plus, Part D swoops in to help with your prescription drug coverage.

Option 2 – Advantage
Go for a Medicare Advantage plan, also known as Part C. Most of these plans include drug coverage and even some added perks like routine dental and vision care.

These components — Medigap supplement insurance, Medicare Advantage plans, and Part D plans — are provided by private insurance companies. What this means is you’ve got a variety of plans to choose from, each with different coverage and costs. In contrast, Original Medicare is administered by the federal government, ensuring uniform benefits and costs for everyone.

Medicare Advantage and Part D plans are closely regulated and approved by Medicare so that they meet specific standards. These private options exist to give you more choices and fill in the gaps left by Original Medicare.
